Temasek Junior College Leo Club’s “Go Green Day” – Old Newspaper & Clothes Collection

The Temasek Junior College Leo Club is a project of LCS East since 1982. Annually, the Leo Club organizes “GO GREEN DAY” and the entire teaching staff, principals, and students visit Homes in the Bedok Community to collect old clothes, books, newspapers, and shoes. The “GO GREEN “ initiative is to emphasize the values of the three Rs – to reduce, recycle and reuse, to save the environment.

The items collected are sold for recycling and the proceeds are donated to the LIONS HOME FOR THE ELDERS and another charity of their choice. Barring the COVID years, for more than 3 decades, they have annually donated about $10,000.00 to the LIONS HOME FOR THE ELDERS.

10 January 2023 ( Tuesday) is their “ GO GREEN DAY”. Members of the Lions Community are urged to donate their old clothes, books, and newspapers to the Temasek Junior College Leo Club. They can bring their items to the College which is located at 22 Bedok South Road by 2.30 pm. If members are unable to come on Tuesday, please contact Sudhakaran, Leo Club Advisor, LCS East, HP 96945015 and he will the necessary arrangement.
