The Lions Home for the Elders (LHE) is a voluntary welfare organisation, with a total bed capacity of 354 beds, offering residential care for the destitute, frail and aged sick. LHE are one of the first few nursing homes to be accredited by the Ministry of Health as an Approved Service Provider, providing accomodation, medical and nursing care for elderly suffering or recovering from any sickness and physical disability.
The Lions Home for the Elders has 2 homes (Bedok and Toa Payoh). The home in Bedok has 154 beds and was opened in March 1997. The home in Toa Payoh has 200 beds, which includes a 42-bed Dementia Unit. This home was opened in January 2003.
The Lions Home for the Elders is an Institution of Public Character under the Ministry of Health and it aims to bring quality health and personal care to the aged destitute and older persons in Singapore. Managed and funded by all of the Lions Clubs of Singapore, the Home strives to improve the lives of its residents by delivering a high standard of healthcare with kindness, compassion, love and encouragement.
